Back Home (?)

Jan 30th 2008 - I am back in the US for my citizenship process that takes 4 weeks between the interview and the oath. Decided to go to Los Angeles and meet up with old friends I haven’t seen in almost 3 years. It felt like coming back home. Its hard to wrestle complex emotions when you don’t fit in India anymore (or have to make an attempt to fit) and feel so much at home in a foreign country. Afterall Rohit, Pranav and Mahesh are more than extended family to us. All our kids have grown up together and the emotional/moral support has invariably always come from here. So it was a great feeling of home coming and a hope that maybe we could come back some day, talk about ironies :)
